Morpeth Gallery welcomes Maegan Oberhardt and her unique “Paintings with Fire”. Meagan’s passion for animals and her natural artistic ability has led to her developing and perfecting a unique technique that use the flame of a candle or torch as a pencil to create her paintings with trails of soot. Using various tools, copper, gold and silver and watercolour, she intuitively sculpts the plumes of soot left behind in response to the shapes that appear on the canvas. Maegan then painstakingly removes layers by etching with various tools including brushes, hand tools and erasers. It is an extremely delicate and lengthy process. Maegan’s originals are now available from Morpeth Gallery. Open Thursday to Sunday 10am - 5pm. Free Entry or visit www.morpethgallery.com ... See MoreSee Less
