John’s Inspiration: “A letter box is receptacle for receiving incoming mail at a private residence or business that really sounds pretty useful but boring. Over the years the creative spirit of the outback Australians proved that with some unique talent the letter boxes of Australia have become works of art that when one is traveling bush offer interesting entertainment along the way. Australia Post over the years have tried to standardized the letter boxes, but it has been opposed very strongly and rightly so. As usual I discovered this row of mail boxes with interesting shapes and sizes on one of my visits to rural Australia.”
