Twilight Tranquility

John has captured the fleeting change in nature’s tides, that magical moment when all sounds are hushed as day yields to the onset of night. The sun has set but a soft glow remains, illuminating the landscape. A small family group are gathered around the fire, possibly burning off some fallen timber or perhaps dad is preparing a camp oven meal to give mum a night off from cooking. The two homes are built in the classic Queenslander style with the smaller house most likely built first and the larger one some time later as the family grew. This was a common practice in many parts of Australia with the outgrown dwelling being used as a manager’s house or home to married children. The jacaranda in flower sets the scene in spring with its cool nights and warm days, generally time in rural areas for the traditional spring cleanup.
