Robyn’s Inspiration: “I have been sitting on this subject for a while now but as I really liked the play of light and shadow of the very late winter afternoon. I decided the time was right for me to paint it. The glimpse of turquoise water through the dunes added some vibrant colour. I have been painting sand dunes and ocean for the best part of 35 years and still enjoy it very much. There is something about the expanse of openness I love, having walked throughout many of the massive dunes throughout Australia. My favourite of course is Hawks Nest but many of the Western Australian dunes are magnificent – particularly Bremmer Bay. Many you need a 4 wheel drive to access.”
