Newcastle’s Own 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle
Hunter Region artist John Bradley painted the original scene for this 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle size is 700mm x 500mm. The box it will arrive in measures 31cm x 19.5cm x 6cm. Made in Australia.
The Newcastle Flyer, Pacific class 3801 is seen here crossing Mullet creek on the Hawkesbury. This streamlined class leader still holds a special place in the hearts of many Novocastrian steam enthusiasts. This wonderful old Locomotive was officially retired in 1970, having worked hard, steaming over 3,000,000 kilometres in 30 years. In 1983 the now famous loco underwent a full restoration by unemployed apprentices at the state dockyard In Newcastle. Re-commissioned in 1986, she is a star attraction in the Hunter region, drawing large crowds of spectators on every outing. Australia’s most famous steam train, 3801 was built in 1942 and ran for the first time in January 1943. Since that day 3801 has gone on to create for itself a unique place in Australian history as the nation’s best known and most widely travelled locomotive.
