Robyn’s inspiration for this painting: “The inspiration for this painting was the grouping of these ancient trees. I was interested in how they joined from one central base, twisted and gnarled from several thousand years of growth. We are learning all the time about the intelligence of trees – how they support one another and how they communicate through mycelium which spreads underground among the roots. There is much to learn about life forms different to ours – how they live, survive and communicate, what they feel, and how they interact with each other. And of course, for me as an artist, the texture of the moss is always fascinating to me.”
