Stephen Bennett

Wildlife Artist

As the father of three imaginative and radiant girls, Stephen is constantly immersed in colour and activities that drive an inspiration to put all the love and craziness around him onto a canvas.

Stephen has taken inspiration from many things in his life such as his beautiful and encouraging wife who has supported his work from the beginning of their adventures together.

Stephen was born and raised in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales and spent most of his growing years outside exploring. This has developed into a deep love of the outdoors, nature and the local fauna. This has been a grounding for a love of creativity and the passion for him to capture the beauty and movement of our wildlife in his paintings.

He is a self-taught artist that is always striving to improve and learn from others in order to master his craft.

Life has a way of interrupting passions of pursuit and there have been times away from this creative passion, but he is always drawn back.  In his early 30’s he started working with coloured pencils, primarily working on portraits which were recognised internationally.

It wasn’t long before his passion with wildlife was re-ignited. Stephen’s love for capturing the exquisiteness of our wildlife, fuels a passion that he can’t ignore.

The challenge of capturing the realism and the refined intricate details of each unique animal, both fur and feather, is something that Stephen is enthusiastically compelled to do and master.
