Robyn’s inspiration for this painting “This is one of my favourite spots of the West MacDonnell ranges and it took me years to get there. I loved painting there so much, that I decided to take another painting group to the same spot only to find that they had closed down. Their accommodation status now is not known to me at present. It is a natural Gorge along the Finke River – about 132 kms west of Alice Springs. The Red cliffs and reflective water are just spectacular for painting and white gums along the walk to the Gorge are picturesque. The Gorge is easy to access and the water very clean. I just loved the light on the cliffs in this painting and the reflective water hanging in the pool after rain.””
