John’s Inspiration: “The late afternoon sun creates dramatic edge lighting on the foreground cliffs and sandstone walls of the Grose Valley. I’ve painted this scene at different times of the day and in dramatically different weather conditions from bushfire haze to storms and snow. The Grose Valley, more than any other location in the Blue Mountains produces the distinctive blue haze which gives the area its name.”
