John’s Inspiration: “This village is in the historical province of South Eastern France and is perched high up in the mountains near St Tropez. This region has a great reputation for its food and kindness of people. The area is full of history and many villages perched in the mountains were built for protection and defence. Southern France is known for its Mediterranean climate and picturesque villages perched high in the mountains. They are also known for their wonderful farmers markets, where everything from baguettes, local cheese and fresh fruit is in abundance and I was a willing participant to take part in this! Another claim to fame is that in the nearby village of St Tropez (which we also visited) my favourite actress Brigitte Bardot was living there and I stood on the sand she sunbathed on.”
