“A Splendid Call for Love” (Splendid Fairy Wrens) Original Acrylic on Linen 30cm x 25cm -SOLD
Stephen’s Inspiration: “When my wife and I first moved into our home our yard was nothing but a blank canvas. With our love for nature our intension was to create a peaceful environment where one could sit and relax, with our design we wanted to bring in some of Australia’s beautiful and prominent native plants. Overtime as the gardens have grown, we have seen plenty of native birds come visit to feed on the flowers and only till recently a few small fairy wrens starting to hang around. In the garden It has been a delight to hear their beautiful singing that echoes throughout the day as they forage and hop along in and out of the dense shrubs. Being able to enjoy their presence while watching them flying around, seemingly in a playful state. My idea for this painting was to capture two young Wrens enjoying a quiet time together with an impromptu visit from a Male Wren being the dad. In his notably Splendid displayed blue colour he is seen starting to sing and make his presence felt around the younger pair, reminding them that he is there for them. Noticeably the sibling wrens have just noticed what is unfolding around them and taking to his call for love”.
