Rustic Charmer (Red Capped Robins) Original Acrylic on Claybord 30cm x 45cm

Natalie’s Inspiration: “Robins are so cute! This is the very first time I have painted a ‘pair’ of Red-capped Robins. I have just recently been lucky enough to capture some great reference photos of a female Red-cap.  It’s so rewarding to create a painting from your own personal interactions with nature. The actual scene in this painting was created from a handful of different elements in my reference resources. The old sulky that the birds are perched on lives on my property under a big Stringybark tree. It’s slowly succumbing to the elements over the last 20 years or more, but I  love it’s rustic charm. I have been tempted to move it to a more prominent position in my garden but fear it may fall to pieces if I touch it! Anyway,  back to my painting, I loved creating the interaction between this pair of Red-capped Robins.  Spring is a beautiful time of year and the birds in my garden are singing it was the perfect inspiration for creating this painting “.
