This painting is set in the Barrington region and focuses on a couple who have just set up camp and are enjoying the warmth of a fire as the day cools down. As the title suggests, they have escaped the hustle and bustle of the city for two or three days, getting back in touch with nature and themselves. A full moon and fire cast sparkling paths of light in the calm waters of the river. The firelight casts its glow into surrounding trees and foliage, holding back the darkness until it’s time to turn in for the night.
