At sunset the Fleet now securely moored in the cove, land clearing is well under way, a wharf has been constructed to ease the landing tons of equipment, stores and personnel. The large eucalyptus tree was recorded to have a girth of 27’ (8. 5 m) and took 3 weeks to cut down.
