Restful Afternoon

Natalie’s Inspiration: “Pelicans are beautiful big birds; most people relate to them living around the coast. But I have a few resident pelicans that live around Paterson just a few kilometres from my home.  I haven’t painted a pelican for a very long time…. why have I left it so long? The subtle tones in the white feathers and the beautiful colours in his beak are just amazing!! It was such a joy to paint this portrait.  I find it amusing that pelicans give me the impression that their personality is quite majestic and calm but they also have an aura of clumsiness about them with their inturned webbed feet and extra big beak!”.
