This old timer is located at the corner of Swan and George Streets and is still occupied, however in need of TLC.
Morpeth is a living museum, classified National Trust with its rich heritage and beautifully preserved buildings. The village was instrumental in the development of the Hunter Valley Region. Morpeth’s role as one of the most important River Ports in NSW began in the 1820’s under the instructions of the Colonial Secretary.
With the development of Queen’s Wharf in 1833 opening the trade route with Sydney. The town soon became a major industrial and agricultural hub. While no longer famous for its primary industry, the Morpeth of today continues to thrive with many visitors exploring the village each year.
