The town of Gloucester and its surrounding countryside is a plein air painters paradise. The surrounding hills and the reflection of light is what inspired me to paint this scene, the shadows enveloping the hills and the subsequent shadows on the splendid gums. Gloucester has every vista an artist needs, rivers, creeks, old cottages and of course the colourful receding hills the background.
