Robyn’s Inspiration: “I particularly liked this tree because the moss reached thickly almost to the top of the tree. Moss requires a great deal of time and patience in order to give it form. It also requires many layers of paint to create the texture and light. Tasmania is known for its beautiful forests although it is still under fire for the felling of it’s old growth forests for timber – particularly in the Tarkine. When I last visited Tasmania many of the forests had been converted into plantations – destroying the biodiversity of the area  and creating a monoculture”.
