Natalie’s Inspiration:: “Satin Bower birds often visit our birdbath in our garden at home. They are stunning birds and very cheeky, their piercing lilac to saphire-blue eyes don’t miss a trick!! I have often watched them pick the perfectly ripe strawberries just before I get to harvest them, (as well as the blueberries and peaches!!! ). Lucky for me it is a great way to source my own reference photos for a painting. I enjoy having them visit. This painting was a collaboration between the birds that I photographed on the edge of my birdbath and photos from Barrington Tops National Park.  Where I have seen Bower Birds plenty of times but not quick  enough to get a great shot with my camera. ”.
