Ramon’s Inspiration for this painting: “A rainy morning on Argyle Street in the historic Rocks area of Sydney. The old terraces that line this leafy street tell the rich story of this historic area. Large residences built in the nineteenth century for the growing number of wealthy merchants who made their living in the commerce that grew up around the working harbour stand side by side with the narrow much smaller terraces built to house those who worked on the docks.The soft hazy light of a winter’s afternoon is catching the corner of the old buildings and is seen reflected in the pavements that have been left by a passing shower.”
