Finalists revealed in the 16th International Art Renewal Centre Salon Competition 2022

We are excited to announce that four of our resident artists Ann Morton, Maegan Oberhardt, John McCartin and Stephen Jesic have been selected as finalists in the prestigious Art Renewal Centre 16th International Salon Competition.

The Art Renewal Centre (ARC) is a non-profit, educational foundation that hosts the largest online museum dedicated to representational art and includes works by the old Masters, 19th century and 21st century artists as well as articles, letters and online resources. The ARC organises the ARC Salon Competition, which is the largest and most prestigious competition in the world for realist artists painting, sculpting and drawing with eleven categories and thousands of works competing, culminating in a traveling live exhibition of many of the winning works. This year there were over 5400 entries from 75 countries.

Still life artist Ann Morton (ARC Living Artist) has three paintings in the finals. “A Buzz” and “It’s a Jungle in here” in the Still life category and “Pink Carnation” in the Fully from Life category.

“It’s a Jungle in Here” by Ann Morton

Maegan Oberhardt (ARC Living Artist) joined the Art Renewal Centre only last year and is a finalist this year with her “Gang Gang Cockatoos” that sold earlier this year at the gallery. Her unique style working with flame in a technique called fumage distinguishes Maegan as an young artist with amazing talent and incredible dedication. Maegan has an spectacular career ahead of her. John McCartin (Grand Master Artist – World) has won over 105 international art awards since 2011 and he has been awarded two final positions for his paintings in the ARC Salon Competition this year. After many months of extreme detailed painting Stephen Jesic (ARC Associate Living Master Artist) completed “Catching the Light” featuring a barn owl in an old farm shed.
