2003 for Friendship Day, which is celebrated throughout
the world on the first Sunday of August each year. The poem
for Amigo, who's name means "friend" in Spanish,

news for those who love the challenge of collecting Issy…
We've managed to get our hands on Retail Issy's (as opposed
to those you can only get if you stay at a Regent Hotel
or the Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts). Issy is named
after Isadora Sharp the founder of the Four Seasons Hotels
& in memory ofChristopher Sharp 1960-1978. Profits from
the sales of Retail Issy go to the Terry Fox Foundation
for Cancer Research.
Issy set of 37 different cities. Morpeth Bears has

the bear for USS Ronald Reagan naval ship. Excellent.
Ronnie is a USA exclusive. He was produced to commemorate
the launching of the Naval ship "USS Ronald Reagan
CVN76" in July 2003. Profits from the sale of Ronnie
will go entirely to the Santa Barbara Council of the Navy
League of the United States to support ship improvements
aboard the carrier. The navy league is a civilian organization
dedicated to supporting members of the Navy and their families.
Ronnie is decked out in naval uniform and is a very nice
piece.

1999 Ty Warner decided to discontinue the range of Ty Beanie
Babies. He released the black Beanie Babie called "The
End". There was such a big reaction from collectors
all over the world that he reversed the decision, re-opened
the factories and has continued to produce Beanie Babies
to this day. More than 2 million votes were cast in a global
vote held for one day to determine the fate of Beanie Babies.
At 50c per vote, one million dollars was raised for Elizabeth
Glacier Aides Foundation. The white Beanie Babie "The
Beginning" was released in February 2000 as a sign
of the new beginning. These two pieces are extremely hard
to get and great collectors' items. The End was the first
Beanie Babie to wear a bowtie.

the bear, UK exclusive. 5/11/02. Celebrates Guy Fawkes Day.
The Story of Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot. Guy
Fawkes was one of a group of conspirators who tried to blow-up
the House of Lords in 1605 on the day of the State Opening
of Parliament. Had they been successful, King James I and
members of both the House of Commons and House of Lords
would have been killed. The exact reasons for the Gunpowder
Plot are uncertain, but were connected to the struggle between
the Protestant and Roman Catholic religions that took place
in England during the 16th and 17th Centuries. In any case,
the plot was uncovered on 4 November, the night before the
State Opening. The conspirators were arrested and tried
in Westminster Hall in January 1606 for high treason. All
were convicted, and sentenced to death. 5 November was appointed
a day of thanksgiving and is still remembered by bonfire
parties and fireworks to this day.
