Born in Sydney in 1965, Scott has lived most of his life on the Woronora River. Being a keen boater, he has often travelled along the Georges river, Port Hacking and Sydney waterways. Time spent exploring these wonderful rivers, inlets and tributaries has given him a wealth of material to paint. Scott's love of the Australian bush, beaches and waterways is now reflected in his work and he quickly gained a reputation for his use of vibrant colours, painting in an impressionistic style in oils using a palette knife and brush. As well as portraying the many beautiful waterways of the Sydney Region, Scott travels up and down the New South Wales coast seeking inspiration and incorporating such locations, whether country or waterways, in his work. Scott particularly loves the Mid North Coast where his father lives. Scott's passion for the local environment and its people encouraged him to join the Rural Fire Service at the early age of seventeen years and remains an active member. His work is featured in private collections both throughout Australia and Overseas, and in Sydney and Regional Galleries. Scott has held over a dozen one-man exhibitions in Sydney and Regional Galleries and participated in many Group Art Shows throughout NSW. Scott's work is so sought after by international tourists that they now account for half of his sales. He has settled with his wife and family in the beautiful Port Stephens area. | |
