Edward Spessot

Artists Originals Gallery

Edward Spessot was born in 1937 in Gradisca in Northern Italy, a small town not far from Venice. In 1950 he left Italy with his family to live in the northern Sydney suburb of Pymble, in Australia. Edward finished his schooling and began his first job wilt Pellegrini's, a renowned sculpture house. Displaying a natural talent he was encouraged to further his studies, choosing woodcarving and sculpture under the tautalage of Lyndon Dadswell and William Lamb, well known Sydney sculptors.

It was Edward’s appreciation of the Australian landscape that led him back to his first passion of painting. His unique artistic background has seen him awarded a number of first prizes at significant art shows with his paintings being hung in some of the finest galleries and private collections both in Australia and overseas.
